Geese Trio

It is time to retire my trio of beautiful big Embden geese. They are about 10 years old and the fertility has dropped off, however, they are a long lived bird and will go on laying for years yet. So if anybody would like them for pets and eggs please give me a ring. The trio consists of two hens and a gander, and as they have been together all their lives I don't want to split them up now.

S1 Pupils at Gairloch High School are looking for a pig to clear some land we have been loaned by Gairloch Estate. We have no budget, but we have 30 enthusiastic pupils wanting to learn about our heritage,animal husbandry and growing crops. This is our second year of the John Muir Award and our first with Crofting Connections. If you have advice , a pig and are willing to help then I am the teacher wanting your expertise. Registered with the Jacob Sheep Society, we have 3 ewes and 7 ewe lambs ( born April 2010 )for sale. All have been vaccinated & wormed. The ewes have been shorn. The lambs are electronically ear-tagged. Jacob sheep are a rare breed, friendly and biddable - especially at feed time! - with excellent fleece for spinning. A great flock to have on any smallholding, whether it is just to keep the grass down or for future breeding. Please call me with any queries you may have. The price, of course ) is for each sheep. We offer a custom meat cutting and packing service for crofters, farmers and stalkers in our registered premises at Rogart, Sutherland. We cannot accept home-kills, but will collect from the abbatoir at Dingwall. Sheep and pigs only, no cattle as we haven't the capacity. Deer from approved larders only. We will cut and vacuum pack to customers individual requirements. Basis charges are: Handling fee £10.00 per carcase. Cutting charge of £1.35 per kilo for full carcase weight and we will chill hang at a charge of £1.00 per day. Please 'phone to discuss.
